Transport Workers Union Urges Drivers to Boycott Segregation
The International Executive Council of the Transport Workers Union of America AFL-CIO urged Montgomery Alabama bus drivers and others in cities with passive resistance campaigns to refuse to enforce segregation policies. The resolution, adopted in New York, denounces White Citizens Councils and praises the Montgomery Negro community led by Rev Martin Luther King for demanding justice. It condemns racial intimidation and urges drivers to join in resisting segregation in daily duties.
