Remembering Herman Pyfrom MBE Labour Officer
In Around The Bahamas this week the death of Herman Pyfrom MBE labour officer is noted. He served Bahamians with deep Christian charity, reorganized Bahamian labour administration, and earned the British Empire honour this past year. Born Eleuthera fifty nine years ago, he served in WWI with the British West Indies regiment, saw action in Palestine and Egypt, then advanced to the Oat Island department before guiding labour reform in 1952.
