Zetas Award Four Scholarships To Local Students
Four young women were chosen to receive $100 scholarships from Beta Tau Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Dorothy Jean Powell of George Washington Carver plans to study physical education at Florida A and M College, with multiple club memberships and honors. Vivian Hopkins of Dorsey High is a top student who will also attend Florida A and M. Ozella Caldwell of Mays High and Betty Christian, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Collins, from Booker T. Washington and Knoxville College respectively, are noted scholars. Scholarships will be deposited at each student’s chosen school and the awards will be presented during Finer Womanhood Week by Miami Zetas.
