Park Forest 50th Anniversary House Museum moves in history
Park Foresters reenact 1948 move ins in Park Forest celebrating the 50th anniversary. The first rental units in Court B-1 saw families including Ross and Leona DeLue and Manuel and Madeline Kanter move in August 1948. The project mirrors early days with community leaders and local residents contributing furnishings and tours planned for October. The museum unit, donated by Thorn Creek Townhomes, opens Sept 13 with a $2 admission, and volunteers from the League of Women Voters will staff during the house tour.
