Richton Park Names Dale Stillwell Building Inspector

Richton Park appoints Dale Stillwell as building inspector at a regular board meeting. Stillwell, 26, a former Park Forest resident and Rich East graduate, holds a bachelor’s in education from Illinois State University and previously taught building trades at Litchfield High School while running a construction company. He replaces James Krauts trunk, who resigned in December.

Parks supervisor resigns to head Hickok Lodge

Richton Park’s parks and recreation director Michaelene Marie Konecki will leave Monday after 2 1/2 years to supervise Hickok lodge in Park Forest South. The Homewood native and University of Illinois graduate recollects building a village wide activities program and notes labor day dance misadventures as she reflects on a career shaping community spirit. She will marry David Spaulding on May 26.

Park Forest backs condo repair loan plan in Illinois first

Park Forest trustees approved a Bank of Park Forest loan guarantee for Twin Arbor Arboretum and Glen Arbor condo associations to fund exterior renovations. The village uses community development block grant funds totaling 235 790 dollars with bank backing capped at 500 000 dollars and loans repaid by the associations. A housing policy overhaul was also approved amid debate, with one trustee voting no and a game machine ordinance readied after changes. Elevator inspections were set at two per year for 25 dollars each, and appointments to local commissions were confirmed.

School board contests form across Park Forest districts

In Park Forest District 163 four candidates seek three three year seats while no one files for the lone one-year term. Incumbents Elizabeth Smith Garry Barnett Diane Chin and newcomer Robert Vestal filed petitions. In Elementary District 159 three run for two three year terms and one one year term with incumbents Fran Myers Keith McRae and newcomer John Brugge. Prairie State College District 515 sees Alma Martin file for the lone one-year term. Earlier two three-year term incumbents Dr James Griffith and Joseph Hawkins filed. no new filings in Rich 227 Matteson 162 or Crete-Monee 201 U.

Rich trustees back rule for benefits for township staff

Rich township board of trustees approved a resolution to allow eligible township employees to receive retirement benefits from the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund based on past service. They kept the 1979 80 budget at 532 731 dollars. The trustees predict a decline in the township tax levy and postponed action on joining the Area wide Clean Water plan by NIPC until more information is available.
