Lynwood board approves intergovernmental cable pact and hires staff
Lynwood officials met briefly on Tuesday with a light agenda. The board adopted a resolution to join the Lake County Cable TV Consortium, giving Lynwood a voice on costs and rate regulation for the U.S. Cable of Northern Indiana. The village, now served by U.S. Cable, will share technical services through the consortium with other towns including Highland and Griffith. The board also approved an $8,900 concrete floor at the public works garage, hired two part-time telecom officers and one part-time police officer, and authorized purchasing a cargo van and a one-ton truck with a snow plow for $13,914 and $17,746 respectively. Trustees reminded voters that the March 15 primary election is near and announced voting hours and absentee options.
