Richton Park officials seek economic growth by partnering with the Regional Economic Development Coordinating Corp to host a developers conference. The event aims to attract real estate and industrial developers to view potential sites near the Peotone area and better inform outsiders about highway access and the I 57 interchange. The village manager notes prior exposure has been limited and hopes the conference spurs interest from Chicago and western suburban developers.
The South Suburbs could lose about 166 000 potential and needed jobs if the Peotone airport fails to fly.
