Weekend burglaries and disorderly conduct in Steger area
Police report multiple incidents including a Sunday burglary at Byron's Schwinn Cycling and Fitness where two bicycles were stolen after a break in. In Hazel Crest seven USPS trucks lost rear view mirrors last Friday night. A Kings Road dispute led to two men, Stephen Hall and Todd Phillips, charged with disorderly conduct with an Aug. 6 court date in Steger. Another man, Joseph Hessel, charged with disorderly conduct after a party dispute. Adam Ward, 17, charged with curfew violation for riding a mini bike near Richton Road.

Bond set at 100000 for Brain McClendon 24 of Flossmoor Road Country Club Hills 50000 for Ernest Temple 19 of Vernon Avenue Chicago and Tony Brown 20 of Blackhawk Drive University Park. Brown also listed as Tony Mitchell. They were charged with the White Hen Pantry robbery at 19090 Flossmoor Road. Brown arrested hiding in a West 177th Street home after a manhunt. Temple and McClledon caught near the store. all await court in July.

Fire at Wentworth Avenue residence prompts police response
A single three story building at the 1500 block of Wentworth Avenue was set ablaze at 4 30 a m with no injuries reported. Police note vacant second and third floors were used by vagrants and drug users and the fire started at the second floor entrance. Also reported: a Sauk Village woman had her purse stolen on Vincennes Avenue at about 1 30 p m and a Chicago man faced drug and DUI related charges after visits to police. Multiple other incidents including thefts robberies and traffic offenses are described with names ages and locations throughout the area.
