Suspect Charged With Felony Cocaine Possession in Chicago Heights
Jeff Batts, 38, of 354 Sherry Lane, Chicago Heights, faces felony possession of a controlled substance after a 5:20 p.m. traffic stop at 22nd Street and Euclid Avenue. He also is charged with failing to signal and driving with a suspended license. Police said two bags of rock cocaine were found in his vehicle. A separate incident saw a window smashed in a white van outside a Helena Street business, with police called to a car fire in the Jewel lot at Chicago Road. The fire was extinguished before officers arrived.
