Authentic Mexican charrerias draw crowds in Homer Township
On Sundays in Homer Township a Mexican style rodeo called charrerias unfolds at the Munoz ranch. Charros perform roping, reining, and bull riding before about 150 fans, with trophies and occasional cash prizes. The event preserves heritage for families from Chicago and Mexico, with a $10 donation and free admission for children under 10.
