New Wheat Promises Superior Quality At Massillon Price

Miller Neal reports new wheat arriving with weight 61 to 63 pounds per bushel and well filled plump berries. The grain is cleaner with little chess and superior to ordinary wheat. Massillon price set at 70 cents per bushel. Also includes a customer note praising liver pills for constipation and related trouble.

Richville Lacks Post Office After 30 Years

Richville has no post office since June 30 after the long serving postmistress Mrs Elizabeth Wilcox resigned. Mail now goes to Navarre Massillon and Canton causing uncertainty about which route will serve Richville. State Rep C W Metzger met with Rural Route Inspector George Pate to pursue a direct mail arrangement.

Auditor W M Reed reports the Stark county tax duplicate for 1902 with total taxable property excluding dog per capita tax at 14 014 965 dollars, up from 13 736 686 the previous year. The record lists horses cattle mules sheep hogs carriages watches pianos organs merchants and manufacturers stock and other property values, including dog counts at 4091 male and 168 female.

Aged Navarre Couple Moved to Canton Infirmary

Infirmary director Hardgrove arranged for the removal of destitute elderly couple Mr. Izaiah Swihart and his wife to the county infirmary. Neighbors had been assisting them as they face distress and helplessness amid harsh living conditions. The notice ends with a controversial advertisement for Dean's Ointment, claiming a universal cure.
