Sixty Pass Patterson Tests At Marysville Exam
Sixty pupils passed the Patterson examination held in Marysville on May 20, from a class of 168, with four more possibly passing after regrades. This exceeds the April exam where 45 of 268 succeeded. Successful applicants gain entry to any high school and many will take the opportunity.

Two Richwood couples drove a Buick across the curb on Court street near Wal ter Weidman and Will Snodgrass, narrowly missing a maple, as bystanders watched the vehicle climb the curb and cross lots. The driver refused to identify himself, but a Gazette-Republican representative gathered the facts and promised better attention to the machine in the future.

Lightning storm causes county damage and losses
A Sunday electric storm battered the county with loud thunder and bright flashes. Telephones failed, crops were blown down, and several insured properties suffered damage including residences, barns, and a mule killed. John R. Police report several recent complaints of children bitten by dogs and warn that if further complaints arise they will euthanize the canines involved.
Judge Black Fails to Appear for Red Men Memorial Address
Samuel L. Black of Columbus, judge of Franklin County juvenile court, did not arrive for the memorial address at the opera house on Sunday afternoon. Mail Route Change Elevates Marysville Postal Hub
On Thursday June 1 Marysville became the Marysville and St Marys R P O terminal expanding the St Marys division line from St Marys and Peoria to Marysville. George Stemen will run the route moving to the city when a house is found. Registered mail now departs at 7 37 a m with service improving to points west and south. The Marysville to western terminus run starts with train No 15 at 7 37 a m and returns on No 18 due at 4 57 p m.

Death of Louis Poling in North Lewisburg
Louis Poling aged about fifty died Thursday morning at his daughter Ada Hahlitton’s Raymond home after a period of tuberculosis. He formerly lived in North Lewisburg where he worked in real estate and had lived with his daughter since her husband S. L. Hamilton’s death a few months earlier. He is survived by his wife and three children, two daughters and a son. Funeral services were held in the M. P. church, North Lewisburg, conducted by Archer, with burial in the nearby cemetery.
