Mount Vernon Ladies Aid keeps George Washington home alive
The Mount Vernon Ladies Association preserves the historic estate near the Potomac. Volunteers, led by regents and vice regents, maintain the house and grounds with care and hospitality. Miss Cunningham and Miss Tracy are noted figures in the Civil War era preservation effort.
