The corn market shows unexpected strength this marketing year with October to December prices about 7 cents higher than last year. Production rose in 1963 to 4 081 million bushels, 12 percent above 1962 and 15 percent above the five year average, while livestock prices fell and exports edge up.
David Bland elected president of the Clark County Agriculture 4-H Club Leaders organization with Lyman Crumlin as vice president and Mack Strohm as secretary. Officers outlined 1964 events from February training to September 4-H barbecue and reaffirmed 1963 style premium schedule, with scholarships continued for 1964 and 1965.
Severe weather limits runs at Paris livestock sale with receipts this week totaling 95 cattle 3 calves 6 hogs 7 sheep versus 425 cattle 25 calves 805 hogs 115 sheep last week. Cattle mix mainly slaughter steers and heifers about 80 percent with 10 percent feeder cattle and the rest cows. Trading active for slaughter cattle and heifers.

Mrs Zola Evans and others from Ohio Chapel were seen shopping in Terre Haute on Tuesday. Local visits included Mr and Mrs John Musgrave of Robinson to Fern Wernz, and family gatherings with the Hollenbecks. Several calls and shopping trips tied to the Christian Nursing Home and Lawrence area were noted, with school friend Jean Bumpus returning home.
Afternoon with Mr and Mrs Sam Bowers at Olney and visitors Mr and Mrs Warren Evans in Palestine last Tuesday. Jolly Pal Club met with Mrs Ray Drake. ten members and two guests. Wedding shower for Mr and Mrs Carroll Cornwell hosted by Mrs Lois Conover. twenty four attended with angel food cake jello mints and coffee. A flower comparison ends with one dew drop remaining on one and not the other.
Attendance at Mt. Olive church last Sunday was 50. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Wells and Mrs. Buell Millis visited last Saturday.
