Burundi Revolt Reported Crushed in Capital Siege
In Bujumbura a swift revolt against King Mwambutsa IV appears to have been crushed with loyalist forces sealing the palace area and city barracks. Premier Leopold Biha was wounded and missing defense secretary Micomboro. the king was in hiding as unrest follows Burundi independence in 1962 and prior Chinese influence tensions.
