Moton described stopping the car and turning off the ignition as the shooting occurred nearby on the Montgomery highway near Selma.
A $6.2 billion agricultural appropriation bill approved by House Senate conferees includes 276000 for a cotton ginning laboratory at Lubbock and 1 million for an anti boll weevil program on the High Plains. The ARS facility at the South Plains Research and Extension Center will be built about 7.4 miles north of Lubbock and later receive equipment funds.
