How Trial Asked After Court Orders Split in Oil Profits
Oklahoma City June 26 Ar Ace Gutowsky Jr today filed a motion for a new trial in federal court after being ordered to pay one quarter of his share from the West Edmond oil field to two Indiana men. The award could run into thousands but an audit will set the exact sum. The Indiana plaintiffs William M Jones and OC King of Marion sued Gutowsky and D D Bourland of San Antonio Texas over the discovery wall of the field. Judge Stephen Chandler signed an order releasing Bourland from payment, leaving Gutowsky liable for the full amount. Chandler ruled Bourland’s claim time had run.
