A Texas Motor Coaches bus collided with a truck on the Fort Worth edge of Dallas killing the truck driver Willie C. Davis 45 of Fort Worth and injuring 18 bus occupants including Mrs Alice Steen of Burlington Kansas. Bus passengers Hyett of Dallas and two others were not seriously hurt. The bus was en route from Fort Worth to Dallas.
A fourth man in Houston has been charged with murder in the death of Louise Russell a 25 year old former nightclub photographer gunned down at a San Jacinto river fishing camp Richard Fisher Flournoy 30 a Houston telegraphy student faces the charge along with Willie Eugene Parnell Elroy Lester Hertel 23 and Norman Howard Preston 20 all Houston residents The case is tied to a ballistics investigation with weapons sent to the Austin lab for analysis and a key sheriff investigator hopes for an early solution
Cities Service Oil Co and Atlantic Refining Co announce a new No. 1 Proctor wildcat five and a half miles west of Seminole in West Texas. Drilled to 5,620 feet, it ended at 5,144 98 feet in San Andres with a 410 barrels per day oil rate and about 6,000,000 cubic feet of gas per day after acidizing.
