Rio Grande Flood Crest Strikes Laredo Nuevo Laredo

Floodwaters reached 45.3 feet at 6 p m in Laredo with the river crest rising toward 50 miles downstream as Del Rio and surrounding areas faced isolation. The Salvation Army and Red Cross prepared aid for the homeless while LM residents reported 250 to 300 feet of river intrusion and no deaths. Mexico-bound tourism halted and farm crops faced damage as crews warned residents of rising waters.

Scattered Rains Boost Areas Across South Plains

Cecil C. Davis a 24 year old escapee from Snyder jail was recaptured in Dallas County after a car crash involving two soldiers AWOL from Walker airfield Roswell New Mexico. Davis had escaped from Snyder jail during a trial process after a broad manhunt.
