Crystal City council may face new election push
Mayor Juan Cornejo says he and the All-Latin council will not contest a petition to amend the city charter and call another council election in October. Zavala County Commissioner Tom Allee leads the drive, seeking to oust current members and start over. About 400 signatories, roughly 25 percent of voters, have backed the effort. The present council won office April 2 after a PASSO and Teamsters push. Cornejo vows future victories at county and state levels.
