Radar pioneer traces elusive angels on early blip radar
Dr Robert M Page associate director of Mechronics research at the Naval Research Laboratory says radar first spotted in 1944 shows unexplained blips called angels. He attributes them to atmospheric phenomena or large insects and spider webs rather than flying saucers. Other radar observers report slow moving or hovering signals at various altitudes, with no visible light.
