Out of state costs total 154 000 while the state equalization guarantee is 2 299 755. Salary average rises to 18 651 up from 17 759. New Mexico’s unemployment rate edged up to 7.7 percent in March as jobless totals increased by 1,200. Sail Races Draw Good Attendance
A cool windy Saturday saw about 150 spectators at the Wind Sail Races near the Gary overpass. Four machines entered, but only three competed after a wind gust broke a mast weld. Curly Reynolds rejoined after emergency repairs. Mike Coogan won first, and the La Fiesta car driven by Curly Reynolds took second despite earlier woes.
