Hidalgo County Grants Franchise for Main Line Tap Service
The Hidalgo County Board of Commissioners granted Lea County Gas Company a twenty five year rights of way to construct and maintain main line tap pipelines across highways near Lordsburg New Mexico. A bond of 100 dollars and annual 1 dollar compensation are required, with the company to indemnify the county. Also approved are routine county payments and a probate notice for Louis Carrere estate.

Mrs Anita Linden Dies After Birth Of Son In Santa Monica
Mrs Anita K Linden 35 died in a Santa Monica hospital last Saturday at the birth of a son. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Recessional Forest Lawn Glendale. She was survived by husband Jack Linden and three sons Robert 15 Michael 13 and Rodney born last Saturday. Formerly Anita Brown she was active in PTA groups and hosted hospitalities for the Samohi PTA. She lived in Santa Monica 14 years and resided at 1101 22nd Street. Her obituary lists many local friends and PTA connections.

Local boxers travel to Apache Grove on June 24 to face Clifton boys in a boxing bout led by Battling Chaires in the main event. The squad includes Pilberto Quinta na Mike Gutierrez Mingo Galvan Blackie Zamopipo Joe Sanchez Frank Lopez Amado Alvarez Martin Arambula Raul Arana and Pancho Ornelos. Manuel Lopez leads the Lordsburg team. Clifton plans a return bout in Lordsburg around July 15.
