City to Decide on Hiring a City Engineer in Meet Monday

Bids Take Up Co Commission Meet Tuesday

Hidalgo County commissioners held a brief regular meeting Tuesday approving a $21 045 bid from Lordsburg Auto for a new fair barn at Hidalgo County Fair Grounds. They discussed medical supplies for the ambulance service and liability insurance for a state supplied brush truck, to be housed in the Animas Fire District.

Allgood Visits for industrial planning meeting in 1980

Robert L. Allgood of the New Mexico Commerce Department met 23 local citizens for open discussion on potential industrial development. Assets liabilities and possible solutions were explored. An organizational meeting is set for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center and all are welcome.

State Highway Department survey notes traffic on 110 interchanges near Lordsburg changed after new signing. Counts show overall off ramp flow steady, with more drivers using end interchanges and a slight rise in I-10 exits at Lordsburg. Demos To Meet Hidalgo County Democrats Gathering

Hidalgo County Democrats meet June 12 at 7 30 p m in the County Commission Chambers to elect delegates and alternates to the state convention. All interested Democrats urged to attend. Lordsburg Fourth of July Celebration Planned All Day

Lordsburg Optimist Club sponsors a full day of Fourth of July events starting at 8 a.m. at the public pool with a swimming meet and a seven mile run. Contests, food booths, a 9 p.m. firework display funded by the city, and a post event dance are planned with volunteers sought for judges, timekeepers, and booth setups.
