Lambs Born To Rescued Desert Bighorn Ewes
Seven lambs have been born to desert bighorn ewes rescued last November from a scabies outbreak at Red Rock Experimental Wildlife Station. The births bring rescued sheep to 35 at Red Rock, with two others at NMSU for study and 44 more in another Red Rock pasture. The San Andres herd remains the region’s last large desert bighorn group in New Mexico. The lambs carry contagious eczema but are healthy so far, with sores likely to heal in a week. no treatment exists.

City to levy extra sales tax in several towns
City Councilors voted unanimously to enact a half percent city sales tax boosting the rate from four to four and one half percent starting January 1, 1981. Bernalillo County also adds a county tax, applying July 1, 1980, to county businesses outside municipalities. Morenci Morenci Mine Work Schedule Reduced to Ten Days
