Hidalgo county residents invested 3750 in U S Savings Bonds in October according to J A Foster chairman of the county Savings Bond Committee. The report notes state sales rose 11.3 percent from September and 7.7 percent from August.

Payroll Savings Push Aims At Wage Earners
Mr Foster notes Series Bond purchases totaled 3750 last month in the county. In September the totals were 656 25 and 637 50 in August. A special campaign runs this month to enroll wage earners on a Payroll Savings Plan. Over 21000 large firms offer this method. 218 million small firms should too.
