Carrie Tingley Hospital staff will speak Monday evening at 7 30 in the high school auditorium about specialized education for crippled patients. Mr R W Bashaw and Mrs Mae Martin will discuss services and show a pictures and handicraft exhibit from the hospital children. Delta Kappa Gamma sponsors the program as part of a Know Your Specialized Education project with free admission.

Travelers From Alaska Visit Here En Route Home
Mrs. Pauline K. Williams sister of Mrs. J. R. Simpkins and Mrs. Lucille Lemeaux, Wrangell Alaska, visited the Simpkins home last Saturday before continuing their return trip. Williams, a girls' advisor at Wrangell Institute, photographed extensively for school use. They arrived mid October and traveled by boat to Seattle, planning to ship their car for the Alaska voyage after completing their stateside visit.

Mavericks Alumni Basketball Set to Open Season

Mrs. Mattie Keithly Breaks Hip In Thanksgiving Fall
Mrs. Mattie Keithly, living with her sister Mrs. Dora Kerr, fell around midnight on Thanksgiving night, alone while Mrs. Kerr visited Silver City. She called Dr. J. H. Baxter, was taken to Hidalgo County hospital, then to Silver City hospital for surgery to pin the hip. She is improving and likely to use a wheel chair soon.

Question of Train Service To Come Before Supreme Court
Ingram Pickett of the State Corporation Commission says the issue of whether Southern Pacific Railroad Co will remove passenger and mail trains 39 and 40 on the Tucson El Paso line will be heard by the State Supreme Court in Santa Fe within a week or ten days. He urges all interested parties to write the commission with views on reinstating or removing the trains.

The New Mexico Cattle Growers Association set for Clovis December 8 9 will tackle three public land problems facing Western livestock producers. Roy Forehand says a joint committee of the National Wool Growers Association American National Livestock Association and the Bureau of Land Management is drafting a measure to orderly use improve and develop public lands and stabilize the industry. A. D. Brownfield Deming heads the national public land committee and will outline the act’s aims at the meeting. The federal government owns and administers the lands in question.
