Amherst graduates urged to stay driven and persevere
Amherst Marion L Steele High School Class of 2024 graduates received pledges to stay driven and persevere as they moved to receive diplomas at the Wolstein Center. Principal Joseph Tellier cited the football team’s revival from 0-10 seasons to 3-7 in 2023 and highlighted the Scholastic Challenge team’s county championship as proof of changing culture. Superintendent Mike Molnar stressed that the past informs but does not dictate the future as graduates join an unbroken chain. Valedictorian Dane Janis plans Naval Academy duty, while fellow speaker Ethan Homolyn will pursue aviation at Bowling Green State University.
