Ford to build electric van at Lorain Ohio plant
Ford Motor Co plans a 2026 start for a new all electric commercial van at the Lorain County Ohio Assembly Plant as part of a 1.5 billion expansion creating 1,800 jobs. The project aims to supply fleet clients such as U Haul UPS and Amazon with a second generation electric van built in Sheffield for the region.

Amherst driver fleeing led to fatal crash, police say
Elyria police report a 40 year old Amherst man Brandan Ryan fled from a traffic stop, drove a gray Nissan Altima through a red light at Griswold Road and Route 57 at high speed, colliding with a blue Toyota Corolla. Two Altima passengers, Tanner Smith and Meghan Incorvain, died. Ryan and the Corolla driver Robert Vormelker were in critical condition. Detectives found drugs in the Altima and noted Ryan and others had active felony warrants. Ryan faces multiple felonies.
