Prentiss Sykes a 60 year old employee cashed a government check for 27054 49 dollars. He deposited 15000 in savings 11054 in checking and kept 1000 in cash. The error started with a GSA clerical mistake in Kansas City and involved the Secret Service. Sykes agreed to repay 300 monthly installments and remains ahead financially.
