Auto talks edge toward end of three day UAW strike
Detroit UPI report says Chrysler Corp and United Auto Workers recessed a 22 hour session with the top company negotiator noting progress toward ending the three day strike. Union spokesmen said talks began Sunday at 10 am and would resume at noon as the shortest national strike looms with about 113000 UAW members on strike.

Fire arson attempt at Buena Vista Elementary reported
Firefighters investigated an arson attempt at Buena Vista Elementary School in Vandenberg Village at 7 23 AM. Evidence included burned airplane glue and plastic on a wall.
