Congressman Brown to visit Santa Barbara for fundraiser

State college board backs seven percent faculty pay raise

The State College Board of Trustees approved seeking a seven percent salary increase for 1%campus system faculty, costing about $24.4 million, despite Gov. Ronald Reagan's opposition. The measure also seeks a 4.5 percent fringe benefits rise to aid faculty recruitment. The board also urged adoption of publication boards to guard against press freedom misuse.

Highway Patrol To Hold Vehicle Inspections In Lompoc

The California Highway Patrol will set up personal vehicle inspection points in Lompoc on November 7 at Central and H Street, November 17 at Ocean and O, November 21 at Central and H, and November 28 at Ocean and 6th Street. The college Fine Arts Department announces a new airtime for Whats Happening at Hancock, moving to 5 p.m. Sundays on KCOY TV Channel 12.

Planners Seek Ban on Crowing Roosters in City

The Planning Commission sent a proposed animal regulation ordinance to the City Council. It would bar keeping roosters over four months old in residential areas and limit other animals to RA zones or require permits, with a six-animal cap for strict residential zones.
