Association acts to curb porn in Santa Ynez Valley
The Santa Ynez Protective and Improvement Association approved two resolutions to press the county Board of Supervisors for an ordinance banning such material in unincorporated areas and to seek support from other groups. Wyne Porter cited sightings in Buellton Lompoc and Sagunto Street. Also on the agenda, a Jan 18 Planning Commission hearing for design controls, a move to hold hearings in Santa Barbara, and plans for a riding arena adjacent to Santa Ynez Park plus a no cost Cal Poly master plan for downtown Santa Ynez.

Solvang plans discussed at SMID meeting agenda
Solvang Municipal Improvement District directors will consider the proposed county circulation roads plan and budget items at a 7 p.m. meeting in the SMID building. The agenda also includes discussions on alley improvements, a stop sign at Elverhay and Third Streets, a wastewater plant expansion final payment, and a county Parks Department budget for 1978 79. Changes at SY reservation boost services and housing
Over two years the Santa Ynez Indian Reservation has seen funds expand property and services. New campground and community building facilities are visible while bid acceptance for 12 Mutual Help units through All Mission Indian Housing Authority proceeds. Plans for 20 more housing units, six rental units for seniors, and a four year Block Grant Title I program fund a new campground bathroom by November. A community service shell building awaits HUD approval, with a third year financing to shape its project. Health care studies funded federally, led by Jennie Guillen, target countywide Indian health needs with a planned survey. up to $62,975 has been approved since Aug 1, with quarterly releases. A technical assistant has been hired and Elizabeth Dietrich is authorized to work on URSA. Edward Olivas chairs the Santa Ynez Reservation board.
