United Fund Kickoff Luncheon in Lompoc

Lompoc Valley’s 1974 United Fund Campaign opens Monday with a kickoff luncheon at Lions Inn from 11 30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mike Siminski, president of the United Fund Board, says the drive seeks a goal of at least $70 000. Barbara and Bill Paulin will call for donations at 12 40 p.m. Seventeen community service groups benefit. Tickets are 3 dollars at the door.

Docent Program Planned for La Purisima Mission

Mitchell links Texas stock fraud to officials in Sharpstown affair

Former Attorney General John N. Mitchell testified that a Justice Department list named public officials in the Texas stock fraud scandal. He said Governor, lieutenant governor, and House speaker were included. The testimony occurred at a pretrial hearing for defendants claiming conspiracy and mail fraud charges were politically motivated.
