Lompoc Dam project vote leaves plan in limbo

End near for pollution committee in county air board

County Supervisor Curtis Tunnell, who led a drive to ease air rules in the north county, may seek to terminate the citizens rules and regulations committee of the County Air Pollution Control District Tunnels. A new county finding by Raymond D. Johnson says no statute requires the committee's service. The panel, led by William Luton, twice resisted Tunnell’s relaxation efforts. Tunnell criticized nominations brought for confirmation saying he thought the committee had been done away with.
