Refuse collections in the city will be cancelled on Thursday and Friday because of Thanksgiving. City employees observe the holiday on those dates. The landfill closes on Thanksgiving Day and opens as usual on Friday. Regular service resumes on the next scheduled pickup day for areas affected.

Two to be sentenced in Los Angeles court
Charles Gary and Milton R. Wilson of Lompoc face sentencing in Los Angeles Federal Court on December 14 after a jury convicted them on two counts of receiving concealing and transporting heroin.
