First graduate to address Allan Hancock College 50th anniversary

Frances A. Stephan, from the first Hancock College graduating class, will address the 50th anniversary commencement on Thursday at 10 30 a.m. in the Sports Pavilion. The ceremony ends at 11 45 a.m. with a reception on the Fine Arts Patio and features the A Cappella Choir and Concert Band.

Berthile Poly Enters Navy Nurse Corps Candidate Program

Miss Berthile A Poly daughter of Mrs Roy Poly of Lompoc sworn into the Navy Nurse Corps candidate program at Los Angeles Navy Recruiting Station. She will receive a salary during her senior year at Hollywood Presbyterian School of Nursing and plans to be commissioned as Ensign after graduation in 1971. She will attend orientation in Newport Rhode Island before serving at a naval hospital.

Omega Pi Chapter Installs Officers At Beta Sigma Phi Rite

Incoming president Mrs Mike Malone hosted the installation at 530 Sunbeam Road with co host Mrs Bill Buckman retiring president presiding. New officers include Mrs Malone president Miss Marjorie Browning vice president Mrs Don Jar vis second vice president and others. Strawberry pie was served after the ceremony. Executive board met at Mrs Hebert home earlier in the week.

The Lompoc Community Womans Club garden section toured Mrs. Herman Baer's hillside Santa Rosa Road home admired by 26 members. Rosemary espalier trees, lime toned interiors, and llama hide wall hanging noted. A potluck lunch followed with election of garden chairmen Kermit Hover and Leo Wall. New member additions included Mrs. Dale Lake and Mrs. Joe Brom.
