U S urges Asian help for Cambodia while Vietnamization continues
The United States urges South Vietnam and other Asian nations to aid Cambodia without threatening the Vietnamization plan and troop withdrawals. Officials defend Lompoc substation 24 hour protection claim
Two county officials issued a joint statement Friday rebutting claims by Sheriff's candidates that the Lompoc substation lacked deputy protection from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The statement says a three month gap occurred in September but patrols have operated 24 hours with two man patrols and on occasion three or four two man teams. The station has nine sworn personnel and six reserves, with backup from Solvang and Santa Maria if needed.
