Public invited to hear young musicians in Lompoc recital

The Junior Alpha Club presents a community recital on May 31 at 8 15 p m in the Aloha clubhouse featuring Jim the younger, trombonist John Hoag Curtis Levens Jr French hornist and the Hapgood School Woodwind Trio Jarvnet Sanda Johnson flute and Betty Jo Lower ob. The program includes trombone and horn solos and ends with Terzetto and Concerto for Trombone as the audience enjoys a showcase of rising musical talent.

Lompoc Scene Slides Set for Public Presentation

A Build a Better Community Project meeting at Mrs. William Pendley's home reviewed and assembled Lompoc slide images. Junior Alphas near completion plan a 15 minute narrated program for local groups to showcase city beauty. Donors, the Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club funded the project and attendees included Mrs. Pendley and several others.

On May 21 Mrs Vernon J Burch gave birth to a girl unnamed yet and known as Number 6 until a name is chosen. she weighs 7 pounds 3 ounces.

The Fifteen Tailors held their year end gathering on May 19 with a swimming party and a steak barbecue at Mrs. Venice Dettamanti's home. Speaker of Alpha Meeting Highlights Art Education Talk

Mrs Richard Henning presided at the Lompoc Alpha Literary and Improvement Club meeting on May 16 in the Alpha Club house with guest speaker Joseph Knowles, noted artist and Santa Barbara County Schools art consultant, presenting Recent Trends in Art Education. The Fine Arts Section led by Mrs Arthur Batty organized the program while Mrs Kenneth Adam led the flag salute and Bible chair Mrs Henry Rivaldi delivered a Mary Stewart biography and Collect for clubwomen. Committee reports covered progress on the Annual Flower Show and the summer schedule will be paused. guests included Mrs Sam Muffie Mrs Harold Ferdinand Mrs Charlotte King and Mrs Roy Summers.
