Eight members from local Beta Sigma Phi chapters attended the Gateway to the Gold Trail state convention at the Woodlake Inn in Sacramento. The gathering included a reception for Hazel Block and forums with Assemblyman George Milias, a Bay Area air pollution official, and a Cancer Society representative. Proceeds to the California Cystic Fibrosis Foundation totaled 35,423 dollars. Next year’s event is set for Fresno May 21 to 23, 1971 with plans for the sorority’s 40th anniversary.
