Delegates see only three graves in Hanoi inspection

A 20 man Joint Military Team delegation visited Van Dien cemetery in Hanoi to view graves of 23 American servicemen missing or killed in North Vietnam. North Vietnamese officials allowed inspection of only three graves and refused to discuss recovery. They said the other bodies were moved to another site 35 miles away and a second visit was impractical due to travel time. The embassy noted the three marked graves and said the fate of those three remains undetermined. Further talks were planned at the next JMT meeting.
