County tennis court expansion eyed for Goleta and Solvang

The County Park Commission voted to urge the Board of Supervisors to back a shared four court project in Hans Christian Andersen County Regional Park near Solvang with the Danish Brotherhood Society paying half the estimated 28 000 dollar cost. Support from Solvang and Santa Ynez groups plus Goleta Valley input prompted a planning review and a possible tennis center for the area as officials weigh a county wide park survey before proceeding.

California's Board of Equalizations set a total market value of 16.8 billion for the state’s 10 major privately owned utilities. Chairman William M.
