Braves End Slump With Extra-Inning Win

In an afternoon game at Arroyo Grande, Lompoc junior first baseman doubled to left in the eighth to score Ralph Samaniego and give the Braves a 1-0 victory over Arroyo Grande. The win leaves both teams at 1-2 in the Northern League standings.

Hancock Spikers Take Second in Santa Barbara Relay

Hancock College placed second in the two mile relay at the Santa Barbara Relays behind SBCC with a 7:55.2 showing. The quartet Clyde Schramm Johnnie Gray Doug Tubbs and Bruce Eiles led off 1:59.7 2:01.3 1:55.9 and 1:58.3 respectively as Hancock also took fourth in the 440 relay with a 44.0 time.

Elder clings to lead at Greater New Orleans Open

Lee Elder fought gusty winds and a bulky putter to a two over par 74, sharing the 36 hole lead at five under 139 with Miller Barber.
