Bottom fishing slowed at Port San Luis with fewer limits while warm weather brings good salmon conditions elsewhere. The DFG approved a 20 000 ton anchovy quota increase with a 15 day season cut and a 12 mile ban to shore. AB 335 trims silver salmon size and opens later. SB 192 bans sardines until spawning goals. SB 367 sets fines and jail for non angling salmon theft. Freshwater reports note large trout at Lake Cachuma and Lopez Lake limits.

Foreman Norton resume training before Venezuela bout

With one week to go for the heavyweight title fight George Foreman and Ken Norton resumed training after a Monday break. They will undergo a physical examination at the National Sports Institute before licenses to fight in Venezuela are granted at the Poliedro stadium. Norton returned after a 24 hour layoff while Foreman, 25, ended a two day break.

Kings rally past Trail Blazers in 114-105 win

Jimmy Walker scored 11 of his 48 in the final 4:08 as Kansas City-Omaha erased a 21 point Portland lead to beat the Trail Blazers 114-105. Portland’s road woes continue with a 4-33 mark. Geoff Petrie tallied 18 of 31 in the fourth. Sidney Wicks added 26 for Portland.
