FCI escape ends in fusillade during attempted break out
Richard A. Clifton, 26, a convicted bank robber serving a 10 year sentence, tried to flee the Federal Correctional Institution by cutting a cell window frame and using a towel rope. Guards opened fire with 22 rounds as he climbed fences. he fell, was caught, and suffered arm cuts.
