First Aid Fair Showcases Local Pupil Demonstrations

More than 100 fifth graders from La Honda El Camino Westwings La Canada Fillmore and Los Berros will demonstrate first aid skills Saturday at Fillmore School 1211 East Pine Ave from 1 to 3 p m. Barbara Inglee directs a unit covering wounds dressings bleeding shock burns fractures resuscitation and bandage application with about 20 students from each school presenting learned procedures.

Teachers host Surprise for Paula Bertka

Miss Paula Bertka Hapgood School kindergarten teacher received a house warming and birthday surprise on Wednesday night at her new 310 South C Street home. Lompoc Community Woman's Club approves donations and plans

The Lompoc Community Woman's Club votes to set aside 1000 this year and add a second next year to furnish a double room in the Convalescent Home. They also allocate 150 to the Lompoc Museum and offer a trade-school scholarship. The group co sponsors a Flower Festival queen and hosts a luncheon with new members and officers.
