Leaders of the Patricia Hearst food program agree to refrain from pressing an investigation into the truck hijacking that stole 12 500 pounds of meat poultry and produce. PIN officials said the coalition seeks to avoid antagonizing the SLA while distributing food at 12 Bay Area centers. The hijack disrupted the third day of the $6 million program, with more than $300 000 in food handed out Tuesday and total purchases reaching $750 000. The fourth distribution is planned Friday at the same centers.
