Teenagers avert gunfire during Palmdale patrol scene
In Palmdale California 16 year old Don Stafford and 15 year old Guy Tinder intervened as a traffic stop turned violent. The suspect Gary Joe Garrett 18 wrestled with Patrolman L Dean Biss, seized his revolver and threatened to kill him. Stafford jammed the trigger guard with his thumb preventing a discharge. Garrett was subdued by bystanders and other officers.
