Latin American coverage under fire at Temple seminar
New York Times correspondent Tad Szule criticized U.S. press coverage of Latin America at a Temple University seminar attended by 400 educators from 40 Pennsylvania colleges. The report questioned whether expert coverage would improve, citing Chile’s Allende era, economic data, and government control of media. A separate note from Cleveland quoted Jim Comstock claiming his paper was ordered to stop smelling bad after adding onion juice to ink.
