Thai troops repulse Viet Cong assault near Saigon

UCSB chancellor urges campus preservation at 1969 graduation

UCSB Chancellor Vernon I. Cheadle urged preserving the campus community during the June 14 graduation exercises for about 7,500 at Campus Field. He called for accountability to all state residents, emphasized reducing inequalities, and urged periodic curricular review with student input. Also noted were emeritus awards for seven faculty and over 2,600 degrees conferred. GI home loan data showed May increases with mortgage and appraisal activity shifting from April.

Taxpayers' Association predicts county tax hike

The Taxpayers Association warns a 26 to 30 cent rise in the county tax rate of 2.58 to 2.62 per 100 dollars of assessed value is possible for the coming year. Mariner spacecraft near Mars mission details and aims
